Boozy Lectures: Taoism with Dr. David Curtis Wright
When we hear phrases like “go with the flow,” or “yin and yang,” we often think of “letting go” or “balance” … and not of the ancient, 2,500 year-old Chinese ideology it derives from known as Taoism. In this lecture, Dr. David Curtis Wright (PhD, Princeton, 1993) will trace Taoism from its earliest philosophical roots to its role in China’s shifting political and cultural landscape.
Dr. David Curtis Wright (楓邦隱者) is a professor of East Asian history at the University of Calgary. His research and writing interests include pre-modern Chinese thought, the Mongols and their empire, and the island of Taiwan. Prepare to expand your worldview with his lecture!
